The pottery slipware puzzle jug is an early, rare example from the Donyatt Pottery located in Somerset, England. The pitcher is sgraffito decorated with tulips and pin-wheel-type flowers, inscribed " Fill me full, drink of me while you would", above the date 1754 and the initials in capitals SW. The piece is decorated with a dark treacle slip on a deep honey-colored ground augmented with randomly applied green splashes.

Dimensions: 8 inches high

Current Condition: Unrestored with some glaze loss as associated with this ware from the period, otherwise in good order.
