Description
The drab ware pottery pitcher has a felsparic body with a glazed interior and commemorates the death of King George IV in 1830.
The pitcher is exceptionally decorated and well defined, with a stylized flattering image of the late King flanked on each side by angels. The border is decorated with roses, thistles, and shamrocks emblems of England, Scotland, and Ireland. The exceptionally modeled handle is formed as a lion and adds real stature and drama to the piece.
