A large-size creamware pottery tankard with Nelson's 18th-century rare early portrait in an underglaze transfer print hand painted with enamel colors. The portrait is flanked by British sailing ships of war and decorated with a scrolling banner with the legend " SUCCESS ....TO.ADM... NELSON". The tankard is a fine and fitting historical commemorative of one of the most respected British heroes.

Current Condition: Two chips on the inner rim of the base otherwise in very good order with no restoration.
