A rare Staffordshire pottery model of a rabbit crouching amongst flowers and leaves. The delightful figure is decorated in underglaze oxide colors with a high-quality lead glaze; the modeling is expressive with added and unusual detail of applied sprigs of three flowers and two leaves on the base. The figure was likely made at the Thomas Whieldon Pottery.  

Dimensions: 3 inches high, 2 inches wide, 4 inches long

Current Condition: Minor old chip under the base left unrestored.

Provenance: Retains the label of Jonathan Horne Kensington Church Street London .Exhibited March 1991 Catalogue reference 309 and noted from the Price Collection illustrated in his book Plate XXIV
