This canary yellow pottery pitcher is evocatively decorated with two black underglaze transfer prints. One is of " Britannia" with a lion, a castle, and a cornucopia of abundance. The other is a female figure symbolizing "Hope" standing against a plinth, her hand resting on an anchor. Both prints feature sailing ships indicating their importance to the Nation during the Napoleonic Wars.
