The pottery punch bowl is painted in blue with underglaze transfer prints. The center with a hand painted image of a four sail windmill and the legend Riccarton Mill Club 1811, the border and outer walls of the bowl with a transfer floral pattern. Two bowls were specially commissioned and given to the Riccarton Mill Club by Mr.Graham of Hawick, one of the founding 12 members in 1811. (One bowl reportedly donated to a local museum). The provenance was established through the notes made in a leather-bound journal dated 1811 of the Riccarton Mill Club and is offered for sale with the bowl. The journal commences 1811, records the membership names, and provided details of prices for livestock and Grains. The last entry was 1858. Riccarton now forms part of Kilmarnock Ayrshire, Scotland.
