A very fine Thomas Whieldon creamware dish or stand with beautifully applied coloured oxide colours and lead glaze. The dish has a lobed wavy rim with basket work panels within pierced trellis work with nuts and foliage.A very fine crisp example of the potters art in the mid 18thc period. Several shards of this pattern have been excavated at the Thomas Whieldon Pottery in Staffordshire which operated between 1747 and 1780 .
