A rare and complex Staffordshire pearlware pottery tablebase group with bocage in the "Sherratt" manner. A large flock of sheep are under the watch of a dog and a couple of male and female shepherds who are to passing time and soothing the flock playing musical instruments. The large group shows the pair sitting against a castle with three bocage trees against the skyline. The scale of the castle buildings add a touch of whimsical fantasy to this very charming figure.
