Antique Staffordshire pearlware pottery "Sherratt" PREPARE TO MEET THY GOD group made in the early 19th century. This group is modeled on a table base. The group is adorned with Masonic symbols, and the message in bold black letters is a reminder of humanity's accountability and mortality. The two standing male figures, one carrying a bible and the other a sword, are guarding the entrance to the Masonic Temple. The Archangel Gabriel sits over the clock holding a tablet with the legend "Time Flies" he is supported by two angels with outstretched wings on either side. The group is an excellent example decorated in a very colorful and vibrant fashion.
