Antique Staffordshire pottery pearlware figure group of a Nanny with a child riding on a dog. The figure of the nanny is taking great care to look after her ward. The figure is charmingly modelled and captures a wonderful moment in pottery. Frowned upon today it was common practise for children to take rides on their large canine pets in the 18th and 19th century.

Dimensions: 7.5 inches high

Current Condition: Note, there is an original firing detail at the boys neck, this is authentically related to the potting of this figure. There is good professional restoration at the tail of the dog.
