Description
Antique Staffordshire pottery figure of a lion and tiger seated under palm trees. The work of the Thomas Parr factory in Staffordshire Ebgland and dates to mid 19th century circa 1855.Thomas Parr is known for his very fine modelling of figures and soft palette of colours which he used to decorate his wares.
Parr always decorated his figures “in the round” which is an extra sign of quality which seperates his work from the “flatbacks “commonly associated with Staffordshire pottery figures of the mid and late 19th century in England.
