Antique Staffordshire pottery pearlware figure group of Dandies. The figures are modeled standing on a colorful base and decorated with bright enamels, and well modeled. The Dandies do make a good-looking pair, although they do have a touch of comedy about them.

Dimensions: 8.5 inches high

Current Condition: Some restoration to enamels, hat, and arm.

Provenance: With the late Jonathan Horne ( retains label) and from the private collection of a lady in the Channel Islands.

Literature: Myrna Schkolne Book, People, Passions, Pastimes and Pleasures, Staffordshire figures 1810-35 devotes an entire chapter 4 to the Dandies phenomena.
