Dated: 1820 English

A fine Staffordshire pottery pearlware bust well modelled and decorated in enamel colours. The figure bears the inscription "Zingore" under the socle shaped base. Ralph Wood was the first Staffordshire potter to produce this figure which was titled Zingaria and was probably inspired by a period classical Roman figure.
