An interesting Prattware English pottery plaque with applied sprig decoration connected with rural sports but with the curious addition of figures of cherubs. The plaque has a beaded border with restrained application of the oxide colours associated with Prattware. A very unusual and decorative whimsical piece from the English potters. A similar plaque is illustrated in the John and Griselda Lewis book on Prattware.

Current Condition: Fine unrestored condition
Literature: John and Griselda Lewis page 118 Pratt Ware English and Scottish relief decorated and underglaze coloured earthenware 1780-1840. Griselda Lewis has recently died (March 2014) . She and her husband are acknowledged as major contributors to the knowledge of British pottery.
