Dated: 1792 Swansea Wales

andAntique pottery pearlware glazed pitcher in blue and white underglaze transfer decorations. "Success to all Flowerists", Thomas & Ales Hardman 1792 is located under the spout whilst the two sides have an image of a male figure seated on a bench holding a frothing jug of ale, the inscription underneath reads " Dear Tom this brown Jug." The term Flowerist may be an early rendition of Florist, and perhaps Dear Tom alludes to the Thomas Hardman, a gift from Ales, which is probably a mis-spelling of Alice.
