Description
A fine Mortlake Pottery stoneware saltglaze pitcher with silver plated mounts.
The jug is large scale (12″ high)with a profusion of decorative sprigs of stags, trees,a classical maidens,cattle,sporting dogs, a house,figures of horse riders and a centre panel representing “The Drunken Boors”. The jug is in fine order with a good salt-glaze and is probably the work of the Kishere Pottery at Mortlake situated on the Thames.
