A medieval period English pottery tile with a portrait of a king in a pale yellow slip with a lead glaze. An early example 13th century probably Mercian, England . The portrait of the King is very similar to images found on "Long Cross Coins" of the 13th century. The portrait maybe generic or possibly King Henry 111.
