Antique English pottery prattware stirrup cup in the form a of a stags head. Stirrup cups are usually related to fox hunting, the cups associated with stag hunting are very rare. This stirrup cup is of special interest as it is decorated in Pratt colours in a most unusual and decorative fashion. The condition is exceptionally fine and retains a wonderful pearlware glaze.

Current Condition: Fine unrestored

Literature: John and Griseld Lewis Book Pratt Ware circa 1780-1840 has illustrations of some stirrup cups, however the stag is a previoulsy unrecorded example and is not listed denoting rarity.
