Antique English pottery figure of a lion in saltglaze earthenware. This large decorative figure has a flat back and was most likely intended for use on a grand mantlepiece or as a decorative piece on a piece of furniture which stood against a wall. The figure is probably from the Briddon Pottery of Brampton in Derbyshire England and would date to c1830 period. This figure is in stunning condition and the lion has great character.
