A very rare Prattware pottery large scale pitcher with armorials and image of a prancing horse with script initials J F B and the date 1805 all this in a cartouche of flowers and foliage. The border and at the side of the handle are naive images of houses and flowers which counterbalance the strikingly bold and formal armorials. It is exceptionally uncommon to have such a large piece in prattware colours and it is likely that the pitcher was specially commissioned.
