This is a rare pottery model of a "cobble," a boat used on the East Coast of England. These models, all differently colored, were reputedly hung in the windows of fishermen's cottages to identify the vessel's owner. This is an exquisitely elegant example in fine condition. TheseĀ  boats are still used today, mainly on the eastern coast of England.
