The large creamware pottery stand or plat de menage was made in the circa 1780 period probably at the Leeds Pottery.The stand is made of three tiers comprising five shells, the middle tier is supported by five smiling dolphins, the top tier by leaves. The base is a rocky type form which supports the bottom row of large shells, the female figure on top of the stand holds a cornucopia symbolizing abundance. These decorative and stylish pieces are increasing rare to locate, this example is crisply modeled and in good very clean condition with only minor restoration.  

Dimensions: 15.5 inches high

Current Condition: Chip at base and hairline crack at one shell professionally and invisibly restored.
