A rare-sized Delftware plate decorated in polychrome with a male and female couple in a rural landscape with a building, gate, and trees painted in yellow, green, blue, and manganese purple. The male figure doffs his cap, and the seated lady acknowledges the gesture. The smaller version is shown as a guide to scale.

Current Condition: Rim chips restored

Provenance: Sir Henry Sutcliffe-Smith Collection( 1864-1938) and then by descent.
