This rare commemorative delftware pottery plate is painted in blue with the inscription "Duke William For Ever" within a double decorative circle. Duke William of Cumberland was also known as Butcher Cumberland after ending the Jacobite uprising at the infamous battle at Culloden in 1746, where no prisoners were taken.
