Dated: 1815 Probably North East England or Staffordshire.

This set of three pottery pearlware glazed wall plaques are decorated with underglaze black and white transfer prints of women exhibiting the three virtues of Faith, Hope, and Charity. The plaques are molded with simulated frames in black enamel with pierced holes to enable hanging. They are evocative of the sentiments prevailing during the war, religious resurgence, and rapid social changes.

Dimensions: 6 inches high 4.75 inches long

Current Condition: A small chip restored at the corner of the Charity plaque.
