A rare and fine delftware fuddling cup decorated with stylized blue flowers. Made as a puzzle for entertainment, the three cups are interconnected. The three cups were filled with various types of alcoholic beverages which became intermingled, the drinker was then tasked to guess the drink. This early example is mid the 17th century and in remarkable condition, made in London, probably at the Pickleherring Delftworks.

Literature: DELFTWARE by Michael Archer (The Collection at the Fitzwilliam Museum Cambridge, England). The Agecroft Hall Museum in Virginia, USA, has an almost identical cup. *Image attached, this Tudor Building was removed from Lancashire, England, and rebuilt in Richmond, USA.
