This commemorative pottery plate is underglaze transfer printed in blue and white with a portrait in the cavetto of King George 111 with the words " Sacred to the memory of King George 111, Who died 29th January 1820". The border is strikingly decorated with emblems of the United Kingdom, shamrocks, thistles, and roses. ( Wales sadly is unrepresented, a country perceived of little importance at the time by the English). The plate is in good order and was made at the Caledonian Pottery in Glasgow, Scotland.
