The delftware pancake-shaped plate is painted in blue, yellow, manganese, blue, and yellow, showing a heron catching a flying insect. The heron stands by a large flowering plant against a fence; the rim has an elegant continuous looping foliage border and is probably from the Bristol delftworks. The decoration is engaging and artistically executed.
