An outstanding and rare English white stoneware salt-glazed teapot of globular form with three paw feet made in Staffordshire during the mid-18th century. The teapot is exceptionally decorated with various Chinese stylized artifacts in the Bo gu pattern ( "100 Artifacts) " inspired by the famille verte decoration on Chinese porcelain. The teapot's base has been decorated in script with a large initial M.

Dimensions: 4.5 inches high

Current Condition: very good condition with only a break at handle invisibly restored and a minor chip at the spout with minor signs of wear commensurate to age and use.

Provenance: Previously with Jonathan Horne (retains paper label) and then with the Birkett Collection London.
