The English pottery blue and white delftware jar is a rare surviving example made in the early 18th century, probably in Bristol. The pot is cylindrical and curves into the base and top. There are two applied twist-shaped handles. It is profusely decorated with spots, fruit, leaves, flowers, stems, and a bird in flight. The pot's base is marked with the letter H suggesting the work of the Hobbs Pottery at Lime Kiln Lane, known as 'The Lower Pot-House' and founded by Henry Hobbs (c.1694-1723) and ceased production in 1746.
