The pottery pearlware glazed bocage figure shows Dr.Synta seated and "Reading his Tour" a memoir of his adventure.A group of figures was produced at the Staffordshire potteries in the 1820's depicting the doctor's exploits on his "tour" derived from the cartoons of Rowlandson inspired by the comical poem by Wm Combe.
