Description
The large scale blue and white underglaze transfer-printed pitcher decorated in the ” Chinoiserie Ruins” pattern produced by John Davenport Pottery, located in Longton Staffordshire England.
The size ( over 13″ high) indicates that the jug was an exhibition piece, probably as advertising media for the Pottery.
Davenports output of blue and white is of high-quality, featuring clear prints and glaze and exceptionally well colored.
