This pottery pitcher is hand-painted with a coaching scene. The brightly colored coach propelled with four galloping horses, the coach fully loaded carrying ten people, including the coachmen, all seated on top. The characters sport top hats apart from the very smart military man in full uniform. The coachman is holding a long whip to help encourage the horses on the journey. The reverse of the jug beautifully decorated with a bouquet. The piece made in Staffordshire with a pearlware glaze dates to the early 19th century period.

Current Condition: Small professional chip restored at the lip of the spout.
