The plate is an English creamware bodied silver shaped form and decorated with Royal Portraits of William and Mary of Orange. The lettering and decoration style and coloring are specific to the work of Dutch artists in ceramic at the end of the 18th century.

Current Condition: The plate is in unrestored condition with some kiln detritus probably due to re-firing the plate with the enamel decoration. There are some minor tiny nibbles at the rim.

Provenance: The Alison Franks Collection England (Daughter of Lord Oliver Sherwell Franks).
