The cat is a press-molded figure with variegated clay decoration to resemble agate with a saltglaze on a stoneware body. The figure is decorated with splodges of cobalt blue on the ears and front of the body. These charming naive early pieces of English pottery were made in the mid 18th century in Staffordshire.

Dimensions: 5 inches high, 4 inches wide

Current Condition: Professional restoration to hairline on back of the figure at the hollow base.
