Description
An exceptionally rare and previously unrecorded bocage pearlware figure group. The large scale group consists of a pair of musicians, a shepherd and shepherdess, several ewes, rams, lambs and a dog with an elaborate base with a profusion of flowers. The reverse of the figure is marked four times with makers name in capitals TITTENSOR. One of the largest and rarest groups made by this pottery the piece is truly spectacular with its warm underglaze colors and abundance of rural charm.
