A rare and unrecorded earthenware mortar and handle with a pinched terminal. The pestle would probably have been made of hardwood. Very few of these pieces have survived, this example is very robustly and heavily potted and is in fine condition with only rim chips as historical damage.

Dimensions: 4.75 inches high, 7 inches wide, 5.75 inches long

Current Condition: Good condition with five old chips at rims and handle. The body is exceptionally stable and robust.
