A fine,rare and decorative Montelupo maiolica pottery charger depicting two Italian males playing a ball game, the ball is shown in mid air and the figures are wearing protective gloves. From the 15th to the 17th century Montelupo was one of the most important ceramic centres in Italy and most of the functional and decorative pottery ordered in Florence was made there.

Current Condition: Hairline cracks (Museum type repair).
