Description
A rare white saltglaze stoneware patch or teapot stand made in Staffordshire in the mid 18th century. A similar shard from a smaller similar shaped stand was excavated at the William Bourne pottery site (c1750-60)and is now located the Potteries Art Gallery and Museum Stoke upon Trent Staffordshire. Another similar example is located in the reference work by Skerry and Findlen-Wood published by the Williamsburg Foundation page 111 Saltglazed Stoneware in early America.
