Baluster form delftware pottery vase decorated in blue on white ground. The painting is very high quality with a delicate sensitive rendition of the birds, butterflies and flowers. The design inspired by Chinese decorated porcelain from the Ming dynasty. Similar decorated pieces are recorded in Lipski-Michael Archer Dated English Delftware, items ref.899 .903,907, 908. Also a similar example formed part of the famous Longridge Collection acquired from Jonathan Horne in his Exhibition 1999
