Dated: 1795 Burslem Staffordshire England.

A classicaly inspired pearlware pottery bust impressed on the reverse of the socle "Eygptian Priestess" also with the potters name " Ra Wood Burslem". The form is taken from a Greek marble of antiquity located in Versaille. Ralph Wood modelling is perhaps the best of the period and this piece is a wonderful example with delicately applied enamel colours.

Current Condition: Fine original unrestored condition.
