Description
Press moulded early potteryleaf shaped dish with an irregular fluted edge and loop handle.
The crisp relief decoration shows an exotic long beaked bird picking berries perched on a branch with foliage. The wonderful glaze and quality of the moulding indicate an early example with a date of around 1765, the piece is probably Whieldon or Wedgwood.
This very rare dish is is unusually large 11 inches long.
