Antique creamware pottery plaque relief moulded with the crucification scene, decorated in oxide colours and lead glaze in the Whieldon manner. The plaque is inscribed "CHRIST CRUCIFIED" a rare feature. Christ is shown in the centre flanked by two thieves, a group of figures surrounds the cross including the kneeling figures of Mary and Mary Magdelane. This exceptionally rare piece has a green border comprising of impressed circles and flower heads.

Dimensions: 6 inches high, 6 inches wide

Current Condition: UNrestored condition with only minor historical wear. There is an original firing detail under the two holes at the top border made for hanging.
