A very rare Pratt Ware "Postillion" Toby Jug circa 1800-10 period, Staffordshire Pottery England. The Jug is modelled seated on a chair and dressed in tricorn hat, a bright striped jacket, breeches and boots, all brightly coloured in the classic Prattware palette. The figure is grasping a jug of foaming ale which is resting on his knee and holding a glass in the other hand. The figure is in remarkable condition with excellent restoration at the hat. A fine quality Toby Jug.
