A fine example of Jeremiah well modelled and decorated. The figure was produced in c1820 by the pottery known as the Patriotic Group based in Staffordshire England. The distictive base modelling and red white and blue enamel colouring is the most pronounced feature enabling attribution. Jeremiah warned the people of Israel (approx 500 years BC) that ill fortune would ensue if they did not mend their ways. Jeremaih is modlled holding a quill with his Book resting on the plinth which is inscribed " Scriptures preserved Jeremiah Ch4.
