A fine Mexborough Wesleyan Chapel money bank from the Yorkshire England.
The box flanked by two cherubs and is decorated in capitals across the front in capital letters “WESLEYAN CHAPEL”.It is rare to find and example titled in this manner it is likely that such piece enabled the identification of the Mexborough Chapel by Terry Manby a past curator at the Doncaster Museum.
Crisp modeling and well-executed colors make this a highly decorative and charming piece.
