Description
A rare moulded Prattware pottery seated figure of a lion with a hand formed tail coiled around his hind legs.
The sponged decoration of underglaze yellow and blue oxides provides a warming charm to the beast which is modelled seated on an oval base which is decorated with a brown and mustard coloured band. The naive quality of the figure is enhanced by the modelling of two separate front legs.
The figure bears the label of the famous antique shop in Kensington High Street London of Oliver-Sutton.
