Pearlware bocage type pottery figure of a family group modeled seated on a bench together with a sleeping baby,a pet dog and tabby cat.The bocage is especially appealing. This charming and highly decorative quality figure is from the "Patriot" group of figures. The attribution for the specific manufacturer remains unknown, however, there is no doubt that this pottery produced some of the finest figures of the era.

Dimensions: 8 inches high

Current Condition: Restored, tree trunk,tip bocage and male figures foot. Green and orange enamels re-touched in places.

Literature: Myrna Schkolne Volume 1 page 20 book titled Staffordshire Figures 1780-1840, gives a full account of the figures produced by the Patriot Group. Specific illustrations of the figure are in chapter 144 in Volume 4 figure reference 144.5
