A fine antique Staffordshire pottery figure of an old lady by the famous potter Ralph Wood.Ralph Wood was one of, if not, the best modeller in Staffordshire in the late 18th century. Ralph Wood's work has a strong sculptural quality and this aspect is very obvious in the figure of the old lady. The figure is a very crisp example with wonderful color glazes typical of the work from this Staffordshire pottery.

Dimensions: 8.5 inches high

Current Condition: Stick , hairline at arm and tiny chip on nose professionally and invisibly restored.

Literature: Frank Patridge's book titled Ralph Wood, figure 92 illustrates the male figure "Old Age" which makes a pairing with the female figure.
