Antique pottery pearlware puzzle jug decorated naiveley by hand in Pratt colours of buildings in a rural setting. The style of decoration of this puzzle jug is similar to that found on pieces of hand painted blue in the chinoserie fashion also produced by the English potters. Possibly Yorkshire or Staffordshire pottery, these wares in early pearlware are rare and quite often produced for the United States market.
